BC Practice Director
The Role:
We’re looking for a dynamic and strategic leader to serve as our next BC Practice Director — someone who’s passionate about driving results, leading high-performing teams, and shaping the future of our practice. In this role, you'll set the vision and direction for the practice, guiding initiatives that support growth, innovation, and client success. You’ll lead a team of Practice Managers and a Development Team Manager, who together oversee a talented group of project managers, consultants, solution architects, developers, and team leads. You’ll provide leadership on delivery methodologies, act as a key escalation point, identify skill development opportunities, review and negotiate Statements of Work (SOWs), and help ensure we meet our utilization and financial goals. Key Responsibilities:
Drive Growth:
- Develop and communicate the strategic direction and goals of the practice in alignment with organizational objectives. Create and execute strategic initiatives that better the practice.
- Assist in creating annual OKRs and driving achievement of those OKRs.
- Continuously monitor and adjust strategies to ensure they remain relevant and effective.
- Provide assistance with presales engagements, such as quoting and reviewing estimating worksheets and Statements of Work (SOW) and interacting with prospects to answer their questions and explain our methodology.
Team Management:
- Oversee direct reports and drive their engagement and success through performance management and career path discussions.
- Manage employee satisfaction issues and address concerns promptly.
- Evaluate skillsets within the team. Identify areas of need and improvement and foresee team expansion needs.
- Identify gaps in skills within the team and develop strategies for upskilling and training to meet evolving business needs.
Methodology Direction:
- Provide direction and leadership in the adoption and implementation of best practices and methodologies within the practice.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging methodologies to ensure the practice remains competitive and innovative.
- Assist in decision-making regarding the selection and use of applications and tools to support practice operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
Customer Satisfaction
- Uphold the gold standard of customer satisfaction ensuring projects are completed on time and within the scope that was agreed upon with the customer.
- When customer issues or escalations arise, coach to define a plan to recover gracefully and get the project back on track and negotiate credits where necessary to optimize client satisfaction and profitability.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex issues or challenges, providing timely resolution and guidance to the team.
Manage Practice Health
- Monitor and react to changes in KPIs to drive customer satisfaction, employee engagement, and company profitability including average bill rate, utilization, service margin, employee engagement ratings, and customer satisfaction survey results
- Leverage tools and latest technology to enhance standard processes
- Build team cohesion and facilitate collaboration and best practice sharing across the practice.
- Create a team that balances levels of skillsets and pay scales to allow for continued growth of practice revenue/margins
- Lead and contribute to the development of processes and expectations to help the department and projects run smoothly and efficiently. Balance agility with efficiency.
- Develop, monitor, and manage the financial goals of the practice, including revenue targets, profitability, and cost management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- 8+ years of proven experience in a leadership role within a similar Business Central practice or consultancy.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate teams.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, own, and execute strategic plans and achieve business goals.
- Financial acumen and experience in budget management.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
