Microsoft Dynamics 365: CE Technical Architect
The Role
The CE Technical Architect is a senior technical leader responsible for designing, building, and delivering Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (CE) and Power Platform solutions. This role combines deep technical expertise with client-facing consulting skills, helping organizations transform sales, service, marketing, and field operations through scalable, secure, and integrated solutions.
The ideal candidate brings strong experience across Dynamics 365 CE, Power Platform, Dataverse, integrations, and application lifecycle management (ALM), while serving as a trusted advisor to clients, project teams, and executive stakeholders. This individual will lead technical solution design, oversee development activities, guide integration architecture decisions, and support presales efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Design & Architecture:
Design, configure, and deploy Dynamics 365 CE solutions across:
Sales
Customer Service
Field Service
Marketing/Customer Insights
Dataverse
Translate business and functional requirements into scalable technical architectures and solution designs.
Partner with Solution Architects, Functional Consultants, Business Analysts, and Project Managers to ensure successful delivery.
Lead technical discovery sessions, workshops, fit-gap analyses, and solution design engagements.
Development & Customization
Design and develop custom CE components, including:
C# plugins
Custom workflow activities
JavaScript client-side customizations
Custom APIs
Power Automate flows
Architect and oversee broader Power Platform solutions including:
Model-driven applications
Canvas applications
Power Pages
Dataverse customizations and extensions
Establish development standards, coding practices, and governance frameworks.
Conduct design reviews, code reviews, and performance optimization activities.
Integration Architecture
Architect and support integrations between Dynamics 365 CE, ERP systems, and external applications.
Lead Dual-write implementations between CE and Finance & Supply Chain Management, including:
Table and field mapping
Initial synchronization setup
Monitoring and troubleshooting sync issues
Performance optimization
Conflict resolution
Architect Business Central integrations using:
Standard Dataverse connectors
Power Automate
Custom API-based integrations
Build and support integrations utilizing:
KingswaySoft
Celigo
Azure Logic Apps
Azure Functions
Azure Service Bus
REST APIs and middleware platforms
Advise clients on the most appropriate integration pattern based on data ownership, transaction volume, latency requirements, scalability, and long-term maintenance considerations.
Data Migration & Deployment
Design and execute data migration strategies for CE implementations.
Lead deployment planning and release management activities.
Implement Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) strategies using:
Azure DevOps
Power Platform Pipelines
Managed solutions
Solution layering best practices
Establish Dev, Test, UAT, and Production deployment frameworks.
AI & Copilot Solutions
Design and deploy Copilot Studio agents and AI-powered experiences for:
Sales teams
Customer Service teams
Field Service organizations
Evaluate emerging Microsoft AI capabilities and recommend practical client use cases.
Architect integrations between Copilot experiences and enterprise business systems.
Technical Leadership
Serve as the primary escalation point for complex technical issues and architecture decisions.
Promote solution quality, scalability, security, and maintainability throughout project lifecycles.
Collaborate closely with ERP architects and consultants on cross-platform solutions spanning CE, Business Central, and Finance & Supply Chain Management.
Presales & Business Development
Support sales and presales activities through:
Solution demonstrations
Discovery workshops
Technical assessments
Statement of Work (SOW) development
Effort estimation and scope definition
Provide technical guidance during proposal and solutioning phases.
Act as a trusted advisor to clients, prospects, and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience implementing Microsoft Dynamics CRM/Dynamics 365 CE solutions.

Dynamics 365 CE
Power Platform
Dataverse
Azure Integration Services
Strong development experience using:
C#
.NET
JavaScript/TypeScript
Power Automate
REST APIs
Experience designing and supporting enterprise integrations.
Experience with Azure DevOps and modern ALM practices.
Strong communication, presentation, and client-facing consulting skills.
Ability to lead technical teams and influence architecture decisions.
Experience connecting with Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management and/or Business Central.
Preferred: Expertise in Dual-write architecture and troubleshooting.
Preferred: Experience with KingswaySoft, Celigo, or similar integration platforms.
Preferred: Experience designing Copilot Studio and AI-based business solutions.
Microsoft Certifications such as:
Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Solution Architect Expert
